Mozilla Firefox Favourite Manga Dragon Ball Z	Alrighty guys, In this video, I explain two theories as to why the Androids were alot stronger in the present than they were in Trunks Timeline. I use two theories which include the common theory and my theory. The Androids 17 and 18, that Future Trunks fought against in his timeline are just as strong as the present counterparts. They only difference might be that the future ones without the peace loving Android 16 wrecked more havoc than the present ones. One slight change in the past can have a tumbling effect on the future. It's what I think happen to present timeline.

It is heavily implied Vegeta and Goku could handle the Future Androids and the statement where Trunks says their stronger should be taken as face value as AT has horrible memory and wouldn't remember he just had the future ones suppressed.

Future Trunks even stated that the androids in the "present" timeline were stronger. His sword broke when he tried to take out Android 18. The androids were likely stronger because Goku had survived. It is very well possible that Gero had more time to study his power. If you remember, Goku died before the Androids broke free. After all, Gero wanted revenge on Goku for defeating the Red Ribbon Army. Edited by Pookie, Feb 19 2013, 05:15 PM.

Post Yardrat Goku existed in the future timeline, so I think that the only reason they're stronger in the Present is simply plot.

They might've been, upon arrival, but I now subscribe to the theory that since they didn't receive any maintenance in 20 years, their power significantly went down, therefore Trunks can fight them fairly well. I also don't believe they were toying with him towards the end there.

Google Chrome and Firefox	Going by GT logic though, it seemed android 17 had kept his power intact as did 18. Their power was out dated by GT, but they were still powerful.
